Income Generation (IG) operates with the aim of enhancing access to economic opportunities, thereby contributing to the overall well-being of the communities it serves since 2003. The IG initiatives extend to the creation of new jobs through the development of small business ventures within the communities, fostering economic growth and resilience. Our strategy involves enhancing the qualifications of beneficiaries through various training programs, experiments, business development consultancies, and the exchange of experiences among Income Generation Groups (IGGs). This varied approach aims to empower community members with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful income-generating activities.
Importantly, GNI’s IG emphasizes self-reliance by supporting communities in becoming economically independent. Through diverse income-generating activities and projects, families are provided with the means to improve their living conditions and raise their children in a more favorable environment. Agriculture production, animal production, and small businesses are among the focus areas where the IG strives to empower communities, enabling them to generate surpluses for the market.
GNI places a primary focus on collaborating with financial institutions, particularly Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO). In addition to this financial partnership, GNI is committed to providing comprehensive sexuality education, recognizing the importance of empowering individuals with knowledge and resources for their overall well-being.
We operate under two main interconnected strategies: ‘Revolving Fund scheme’ and ‘Non-Revolving Fund Scheme’. These strategies are designed to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of community development projects.
