Child SPONSORSHIP

Good Neighbors has taken a proactive step towards community development by introducing a comprehensive sponsorship program in three strategically chosen districts: Gasabo, Kamonyi, and Gisagara. The organization envisions supporting a total of 11,306 children by the year 2024, emphasizing the vital role education and health play in a child’s holistic development.

This initiative not only targets the direct support of school-aged children but also takes a broader approach by addressing the indirect needs of the community. Education and health services are extended directly to the sponsored children, ensuring they have access to quality learning environments and healthcare facilities. Simultaneously, the program incorporates Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) interventions, promoting a clean and healthy environment that is conducive to overall well-being.

Moreover, Good Neighbors recognizes the importance of involving parents and the larger community in the developmental process. To achieve this, the organization has instituted income generation activities that actively engage parents and community members. These initiatives not only contribute to the economic empowerment of the families but also foster a sense of community responsibility and ownership.

In essence, Good Neighbors’ sponsorship program goes beyond traditional support structures, embracing a holistic and community-driven approach. By addressing education, health, WASH, and income generation, the organization strives to create a sustainable impact on the lives of the sponsored children and their communities, fostering an environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
